    I loved this book so much! I am in the process of losing weight and I have to lose 83 lbs. I have ben able to lose 27 of those lbs to date. I do tend to do like the author said “you start off with a bang and then the urges come along and you are on your way eating what you fancy!” This is completly me and I am so thankful there are others like that besides me. Anyway, if you need to lose a lot of weight read her books I’ve not been disapointed yet!

    The author is in my head, I swear! I love the aha moment about it being in our heads and I know exactly what episode she’s talking about because I felt that too. And I’ve shied away from bikes but her story makes me rethink this. I really love how she combines practical advice (not typical diet advice but something more real) with her story so we see how it can happen for us, too. And it’s not so rigid that it sets me up for failure. Her advice for motivating myself through this journey is a perfect fit for me. Also, she wasn’t perfect and she did it – so that takes a lot of pressure off.

    This little book is one of the best diet books I’ve come across. It is unique because if focuses on how to motivate yourself to begin losing weight and how to to maintain that attitude so you can achieve your goal. One critical feature of the book is that it recognizes that effective weight loss is DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE. So, in order to succeed, you have to come up with the plan that works for you. The book is written by a woman who personally made the commitment to lose 100 pounds.

    The book is short, but it covers the critical points: how to find find that initial “push” that gets you on path to life changing weight loss, how to find support among friends and family, how to use resources like books and other media to build and maintain motivation, etc. The point is that if you can get motivated and maintain it, you will FIND A WAY TO LOSE THE WEIGHT.

    While this book is a great motivational resource, it is not a diet plan. I’d strongly recommend checking out The Protein Express Diet: Rapid Weight Loss with a Simplified Dukan/Atkins-Style Low Carb, High Protein Diet for an approach that is easy and also very flexible. If you have a lot of weight to lose, these two inexpensive ebooks could very well give you a new and better future.
